We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Business Development Officer (Sales) Location: Nationwide Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The role requires extensive field engagement, accurate data capture, strong customer relationship management, and strict adherence to company and regulatory requirements. The Sales Agent is responsible for generating quality leads, acquiring customers and merchants, supporting applications through the sales process, conducting compliant field verification, and achieving assigned sales and disbursement targets. Key Responsibilities: Monitor the status of submitted applications and promptly resolve or escalate exceptions. Achieve assigned daily, weekly, and monthly sales and disbursement targets. Work closely with the Sales Manager and other relevant teams to improve conversion, customer experience, and portfolio quality. Provide regular field activity reports and feedback on market opportunities, customer needs, and competitor activity. Ensure all field verification evidence, including customer/business photographs and GPS-enabled records where required, is genuine, clear, and compliant with company standards. Generate quality leads and support customers through the application and onboarding process. Conduct proper customer and business verification in line with approved procedures. Identify and approach prospective customers and merchants within the assigned territory. Follow up with customers on pending applications and provide accurate updates until completion. Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and customers to drive repeat business and referrals. Observe all company policies, compliance requirements, data protection standards, and responsible lending practices. Explain the company’s products, services, eligibility requirements, and application process clearly to prospective customers. Capture and submit required customer, business, location, and application information accurately through approved systems. Maintain accurate records of prospects, applications, approvals, disbursements, and customer interactions. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of SSCE; OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage. Previous experience: in sales, field marketing, business development, fintech, banking, microfinance, or a related field is an advantage. Ability to communicate effectively in English and interact professionally with customers. Must be comfortable working in the field and engaging customers directly. Basic ability to use smartphones, mobile applications, and digital tools. Key Skills & Competencies: Number of qualified applications generated. Number and value of successful disbursements.
