Chief Security Officer in a Luxury Hotel - Domeo Resources International ⏲ Sep 10, 2026, 12:07 PM ⋕ View all Security & Law Enforcement jobs Domeo Resources International (DRI) - Our client, a luxury hotel, is recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Chief Security Officer Location: Aba, Abia Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary They are seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Chief Security Officer (CSO) to lead the hotel's security and safety operations. The successful candidate will also maintain effective relationships with relevant government security agencies and local law enforcement authorities. The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing the hotel's overall security programme, protecting guests, employees, assets, and facilities, and ensuring effective security coverage across the hotel, including guest rooms, VIP restaurant, rooftop bar, conference hall, parking areas, and other premises. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate security logs, incident reports, access records, and investigation documentation. Coordinate security arrangements for VIP guests, high-profile visitors, conferences, events, and special functions. Take overall responsibility for the safety and security of guests, employees, hotel assets, and property. Ensure all security personnel are properly trained in security procedures, emergency response, guest interaction, access control, and incident management. Work closely with the General Manager and Heads of Department to identify and resolve security risks. Develop security duty schedules and ensure appropriate deployment of security personnel across all shifts and strategic locations. Ensure proper key control and access management for restricted areas. Prepare periodic security reports and present significant incidents, risks, and recommendations to management. Establish appropriate security measures for the hotel's entrances, exits, parking areas, guest floors, back-of-house areas, rooftop bar, restaurant, conference facilities, and other critical areas. Coordinate emergency response and evacuation procedures and participate in regular drills. Monitor and ensure effective operation of CCTV, access-control systems, alarms, communication equipment, and other security systems. Ensure compliance with applicable security, safety, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular security risk assessments and identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and areas requiring improvement. Lead and supervise the hotel's security team and ensure effective 24-hour security coverage. Review security operations regularly and recommend improvements in personnel, technology, procedures, and infrastructure. Investigate and address security staff misconduct or breaches of established procedures. Conduct regular security briefings, inspections, and patrol reviews. Monitor the performance, discipline, appearance, punctuality, and professionalism of security personnel. Develop and implement procedures for managing emergencies, theft, fire incidents, disturbances, accidents, suspicious activities, and other security threats. Ensure proper control and monitoring of guests, visitors, contractors, vendors, and staff entering restricted areas. Liaise with the Police, Fire Service, Civil Defence, and other relevant security and emergency-response agencies when necessary. Support the hotel's business continuity and crisis-management plans. Develop, implement, and continuously review the hotel's security policies, procedures, and operational standards. Good knowledge of security procedures and relevant Nigerian security and safety regulations. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and during major hotel events. Experience: managing and supervising a team of security personnel. Minimum of 7–10 years' relevant security experience, preferably with substantial experience: in a supervisory or management role. High level of integrity, discipline, confidentiality, and professional judgement. Familiarity with CCTV and electronic security systems. Ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies and high-pressure situations. Good report-writing and documentation skills. Previous experience: as a Chief Security Officer, Security Manager, Head of Security, or equivalent position is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Military, police, paramilitary, or other recognised security-service background will be an added advantage.
