The University hereby invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative, versatile, and proactive candidates with established research areas, publications, and competitive citations to occupy the vacant academic position in the capacity below: Job Title: Bursar Location: Babura, Jigawa Job Summary The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for financial management, planning, and keeping financial records. Qualifications Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of relevant accounting packages. Minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience, ten (10) years of which must be service in the University system. Must possess an NYSC Discharge Certificate, Exemption Certificate, or Certificate of Exclusion. Must have attained the rank of a Deputy Bursar in a University and served at a managerial level. At least a Second Class Honours Degree in Accountancy from a recognized University; higher degree(s) is an added advantage. Qualified member of a professional body such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN. Responsibilities: Monitors monthly income, expenditure, and budget variances. Coordinates preparation of periodic income and expenditure, balance sheets, and cash flow estimates. Provides the University Management with advice on all financial transactions. Ensures accurate records of all assets and liabilities are maintained. Coordinates the development and updating of financial management plans. Duration, Salary, Age & Health Health: Must enjoy good health to be able to endure the rigors of the duties. Duration: Single term of five (5) years. Age: Must not be more than sixty (60) years of age at the time of appointment. Salary Applicable to the post of Bursar in Federal Universities in Nigeria.
