Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Projects to lead its construction division and oversee the successful execution of all construction and infrastructure projects. This role requires a seasoned construction professional with extensive experience: managing large-scale projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, and driving operational excellence across the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage government and institutional construction projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Oversee the planning and successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary project teams. Lead contract negotiations and vendor management. Monitor project performance and mitigate risks proactively. Oversee tendering, procurement, and contract administration. Ensure effective cost optimization and commercial performance. Provide strategic leadership for the construction division and oversee project execution. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and regulatory standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies and key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and contractual obligations. Review project valuations, claims, variations, and profitability. Lead cost planning, budgeting, and financial control across projects. Drive operational excellence and continuous process improvement. Qualifications & Experience: Professional certifications such as PMP, NIQS and COREN are highly required. Demonstrated experience: leading Government and institutional projects, competitive tendering and bidding processes, multi-disciplinary construction teams. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field. Minimum of 12 years’ experience: with at least 3-4 years in a senior leadership role. MBA or Master’s degree is a strong advantage. Proven track record managing large-scale, multi-billion-naira projects. Skills & Competencies: Stakeholder management at executive and government levels Leadership, people development, and decision-making under pressure.
