You'll work within a mature Django architecture, owning critical domains. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and maintaining the backend systems that power our financial products. Beyond feature development, you'll help shape engineering standards, improve system architecture, mentor other engineers, and ensure our platform remains scalable, secure, and highly reliable. Key Responsibilities: Build reusable service layers and shared utilities while keeping business logic encapsulated Build scalable asynchronous workflows using Celery and Redis Develop and maintain integrations with payment gateways, banking partners, identity verification providers, communication platforms, and card issuing providers Build versioned APIs with clean architecture and separation of concerns Optimize PostgreSQL queries, improve database performance, and design safe migration strategies Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices Develop and maintain isolated financial domains with strict financial integrity Work closely with infrastructure using Docker, AWS (S3, SES), Boto3, and Firebase Write comprehensive unit and integration tests and maintain high code coverage Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework Help modernize the platform by moving business logic into explicit service layers and enforcing strong domain boundaries Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Compliance, and Operations teams Requirements: Experience: working with AWS services including S3 and SES Experience: integrating third-party APIs Database optimization and migration experience: Hands-on Docker experience: Experience: designing large production APIs Experience: writing automated tests using Django Test Client, factory_boy, and model_bakery Strong understanding of REST API architecture Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of professional back-end development experience.
