We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Solar Technical Officer Location: Trade Fair, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Solar Technical Officer will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, testing, quality verification, and technical maintenance of Salpha Energy's solar power products, systems, and Kits. The role is critical to ensuring that defective products are properly diagnosed and repaired, repaired products are adequately tested before release, product performance issues are documented and escalated, and external/part-time technicians maintain the required technical and professional standards. The position will also provide technical supervision and coordination of part-time technicians engaged by the Company, ensuring that all installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities are performed in accordance with Salpha Energy's approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical specifications, quality requirements: and HSE standards. Key Responsibilities: Product Diagnosis and Repair: Install, repair, and maintain solar energy systems in homes and businesses. Identify recurring product defects and provide recommendations for product improvement. Escalate recurring or complex technical failures to the departmental Head. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on faulty solar kits and generators. Perform maintenance on solar panel systems, including replacing damaged parts Diagnose problems with solar systems and develop solutions to improve performance Repairing electrical panels, wiring, and other components of a solar energy system. Identify root causes of product failures rather than relying solely on component replacement. Consulting with clients on product issues and repairs to be carried out. Replace defective electronic, electrical, and mechanical components in accordance with approved repair procedures. Receive and technically assess defective or malfunctioning solar products returned for repair Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues. Product Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure that no repaired or tested product is released without meeting the Company's approved acceptance criteria. Develop and follow approved product-testing procedures and checklists. Record test results and maintain traceable testing documentation. Support Engineering and Quality Assurance teams in product validation and reliability testing. Verify: Solar charging functionality, where applicable. Display functionality AC/DC input performance Inverter operation Charging performance Protection functions Output power Output voltage Battery operation Identify products that fail testing and return them for corrective action. Conduct functional tests on repaired products. Required Qualification and Skills Good knowledge of solar electrical wiring Experience: working in a similar position Excellent knowledge of solar energy system maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent attention to details Problem-solving skills. Candidates should possess an NCE / OND / HND/ BSC qualification in electrical-related courses.
