Comprehensive knowledge of the delivery of IGCSE ICT and WASSCE Data Processing/Computer Studies curriculum. IGCSE Assessment Specialist status will be an added advantage. At least six years of successful full-time experience: as a classroom ICT teacher. Master’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education: Technology will be an added advantage. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related fields of study. Technical Competences, Skills and Abilities: Experience: with effective technology teaching strategies in teaching software and hardware skills. Ability to design and deliver technology-enhanced instruction. Technology skills in up-to-date computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, image processing, and graphics applications and working knowledge of instructional design and assessment. Experience: providing professional development for teachers or other adults in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity using all of the following modes: modeling, one-on-one, small group, or large group. A sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365 is very critical. An understanding of appropriate uses of technology in the educational setting. An understanding of TCP/IP networking and current knowledge of available and emerging technologies. Competency with Windows computers and software, in particular Microsoft 365. An understanding of key learning theories and methods of instruction, and their relation to technology integration. Familiarity with methods for integrating technology into the curriculum using relevant technological devices. Fairly good working knowledge of some programming languages like Oracle, Greenfoot, Scratch, PHP, Java, Python, SQL etc. Teaching: Set appropriate and demanding expectations for students’ learning, motivation, and presentation of work. Listen to the views of students about their preferred methods and styles of learning Provide workshops and training for teaching staff in educational technology skills and applications. Coordinates instructions to meet technology proficiency goals including training, lab sessions, and workshops regarding computer use. Liaise with relevant colleagues on the planning of units of work for collaborative delivery Plan work in accordance with the department’s programmes of study and so that it addresses the personalised learning needs of every student Take account of students’ prior levels of learning and achievement and use them to set targets for future improvements Set high expectations for students’ behaviour by establishing a purposeful working atmosphere in accordance with the Behaviour for Learning strategies.
