Avocado Virtual Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of In-House Legal Counsel. We are seeking a highly competent, commercially minded, and proactive legal professional to provide legal support across a Group of companies operating in hospitality, real estate, construction, trading, and other business sectors. The successful candidate will serve as the principal legal adviser to Management, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities: Manage disputes, litigation, and external legal counsel where necessary. Advise on employment, property, construction, and commercial transactions. Provide legal advice and guidance to Support corporate governance activities and maintain statutory and regulatory compliance. Management on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and operational matters. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents across the Group. Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks while supporting business growth and strategic initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across all business operations. Monitor legal and regulatory developments that may impact the Group's operations. Requirements: Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, property, construction, and employment law. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management abilities. Minimum of 5 years' post-call experience, preferably as an in-house counsel or in a reputable law firm. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide practical business-focused legal solutions. Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) and qualification to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
