We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Primary School Teacher Location: Ibadan, Oyo Contract: 2-years renewable contract Duties Commitment to creating a positive and balanced learning environment: Deliver instruction aligned with the IITA School’s curriculum, policies, and standards. Design and deliver engaging, relevant, and student-centered lessons. Develop and submit lesson plans in line with the IB framework and course guidelines in a timely manner. Build and sustain cooperative and professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and students. Demonstrate adequate preparation through effective use of teaching resources and materials. Promote teamwork and collaborative learning among students. Foster and maintain a positive, disciplined, and respectful learning environment. Deliver a teaching load of up to 25 out of 30 lessons per week, as assigned. Prepare and provide appropriate cover work in the event of absence. Clearly communicate lesson objectives and provide opportunities for student reflection and self-evaluation. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with students. Effectively implement prescribed curricula while incorporating additional teaching resources and activities. Ensure student work is appropriately displayed and updated regularly. Differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse abilities and learning styles. Encourage independent learning among students. Maintain a well-organized, stimulating, and visually appealing teaching environment. Integrate opportunities to promote intercultural understanding within lessons. Collaborate with and effectively utilize additional staff in lesson planning and delivery. Assessment of students’ academic development and well-being: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress to support final assessments. Monitor and document students’ well-being, reporting any significant concerns as required. Continuously evaluate student progress using a variety of assessment methods. Complete all school requirements: for assessment and record-keeping in a timely manner. Assess new students, where required, and recommend appropriate levels of support. Communicate promptly with parents regarding concerns that may impact students’ academic performance. Commitment to reflection and improvement of personal practice: Engage in peer observation activities to support professional growth. Participate in the teacher evaluation programme. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and stay updated on current educational practices. Attend and actively participate in in-house training, external courses, and professional conferences. Contribution to School Community: Attend and meaningfully contribute to all required meetings. Promote parental engagement and participation in school activities, including Parent–Teacher events. Requirements: BSc in Education: or related field with a teaching qualification and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience: in international teaching school approved by an international schools association or body (e.g. IBO, CIE, AISEN, COBIS, COIS, AISA). Possession of Teaching qualification recognised by TRCN or additional qualifications from International organizations (e.g. CIE, IBO) is an added advantage. Competencies: The ideal candidate must: Have strong understanding of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), and learner-centered teaching approaches.
