The successful candidate will be expected to drive operational excellence while positioning the hotel as a leading hospitality destination in Aba. Our client, a superior luxury Hotel in Aba, Abia State, is seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the hotel. Responsibilities: Ensure proper inventory, procurement, cost control, and asset management across the hotel. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, development, performance management, and retention of hotel employees. Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all hotel departments and operations. Develop strategies to improve room occupancy, food and beverage revenue, events, conferences, and other hotel income streams. Prepare and present periodic performance reports to the hotel's ownership/management. Take overall responsibility for the hotel's financial performance, profitability, and revenue growth. Monitor competitor activity, market trends, pricing, and customer preferences and recommend appropriate business strategies. Review departmental performance and hold Heads of Department accountable for agreed targets and standards. Promote a strong culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and excellent guest service. Monitor compliance with hotel policies, statutory requirements, health and safety standards, and industry best practices. Lead and motivate the hotel's management team and ensure effective coordination across all departments. Drive sales and marketing initiatives in collaboration with the relevant teams to increase hotel visibility and revenue. Establish and maintain operational standards, policies, procedures, and service quality benchmarks. Ensure consistently high standards of guest service, hospitality, and customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities for operational improvement, new revenue streams, and service innovation. Prepare, manage, and monitor annual budgets, operating expenses, and departmental financial targets. Represent the hotel at business meetings, industry events, corporate engagements, and relevant external functions. Conduct regular management meetings and operational reviews. Work closely with the F&B, Rooms Division, Engineering, Security, Finance, HR, Sales, and other departments to ensure seamless operations. Handle escalated guest complaints and sensitive operational issues professionally and promptly. Monitor hotel revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, departmental performance, and other key performance indicators. Ensure effective risk management, security, emergency preparedness, and business continuity procedures. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, event organisers, VIP guests, suppliers, community stakeholders, and other business partners. Oversee major events, conferences, VIP functions, and other high-profile hotel activities. Review management reports and operational data and use insights to improve efficiency and profitability. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of hotel facilities, rooms, restaurants, rooftop bar, conference facilities, gym, and other guest areas. Strong knowledge of hospitality service standards and guest experience: management.
