We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Billing Officer Location : Lagos Job type: Full time Department: Utilities Job Summary The role ensures timely meter data processing, billing, customer account management, payment monitoring, and service activation while maintaining high standards of data integrity and customer service. The Billing Officer is responsible for the accurate administration of customer accounts for electricity, water, and fiber internet services. Key responsibilities: Create and maintain customer accounts across all utility entities (Electricity, Water & Sewerage, Gas and Internet Services). Carry-out daily and weekly gas volume nominations in a timely and accurate manner. Process utilities billing adjustments, credits, and corrections where authorized. Reconcile billing records with payments received. Monitor customer payments received through approved payment channels. Identify and escalate metering issues and discrepancies in a timely manner. Receive and review customer applications for all utilities entities (Electricity, Water and Sewerage, Gas and Internet services). Maintain accurate schedule for all the customers. Follow up with payments and outstanding invoices of overdue accounts. Prepare monthly billing performance analysis and reports. Generate customer account statements upon request. Generate accurate monthly bills across all utility entities (Electricity, Water and Sewerage, Internet Services and Gas) using ecWIN7 and Sage 300. Administer customer information including addresses, contact details, tariffs, and service status. Manage the end-to-end- gas shipping process and gas volume reconciliations. Serve as Alaro Utilities customer liaison officer and manage customer utilities complaints. Requirements: Education: Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline. Experience: Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience: in billing, preferable in a utility setting. Technical Skills Requirements: Strong numerical and analytical skills. Experience: using ERP software (e.g., Sage 300 or equivalent). Ability to reconcile billing and payment records. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. Good understanding of utility metering and billing processes. Familiar with the Nigerian Gas Network Code (NGNC). Required competencies: Demonstrate an understanding of energy billing and energy balancing. Able to adjust to the dynamic needs of a start-up organization. Familiar with the Nigerian Gas Network Code. Demonstrates a focus on customer satisfaction. Must have a detailed and thorough approach to operational tasks.
