We are hiring a Machine Operator who has a strong understanding of machinery and woodworking processes and is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating a variety of machines such as CNC routers, lathes, saws, and sanders to cut, shape, and assemble furniture components according to specific design requirements. Responsibilities: Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation, ensuring proper alignment and setup. Interpret technical drawingsand specifications to determine machining requirements: and dimensions for furniture components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts, to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Set up and operate a range of machining equipment, including CNC (Computer Numerical Control) routers, Edge banding, and saws, to fabricate wooden parts and components. Collaborate with other members of the production team, including designers, engineers, and assemblers, to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion of projects. Maintain accurate records of machining activities, including production output, material usage, and equipment maintenance, using computerized systems or manual logs. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and production quality. Inspect machined parts for defects, deviations from specifications, and quality issues, and make necessary adjustments to machining parameters or tooling to meet quality standards. Requirements: Attention to detail and ability to maintain precision and accuracy in machining operations. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Proven experience: (5 years) working as a machinist in the furniture industry. High School Diploma with additional vocational training or certification in machining or CNC programming preferred. Excellent mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters. Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials used in woodworking.
