Original source description
Please read carefully beforeto the. end before applying: We are hiring Retail Associates for our Ikeja store. You will run the store day to day — serving customers, closing sales, managing stock and keeping the space in the condition our customers expect. Azarai has been designing engagement and wedding rings in Nigeria since 2014. We work with moissanite, lab diamonds, natural diamonds and precious metals. Our customers are making one of the biggest purchases of their lives, and they need someone who knows the product to guide them. We don't care about degrees or qualifications. We care about work ethic, integrity and a willingness to learn. Duties and Responsibilities: Accept repairs and ensure they are dispatched and returned promptly Execute company promotions and offers Manage stock levels and ensure availability of inventory Ensure supply of all office consumables Enforce company policies Cultivate excellent product knowledge Guide customers to make purchases and close transactions Ensure the POS is working Maintain cleanliness and good decorative order in the store Arrange store displays in an inviting fashion Ensure timely opening of the store Respond to customer enquiries and resolve complaints What We Expect We are direct about this so nobody is surprised after they start. Own the store. Cleanliness, displays, stock accuracy, POS, consumables and repairs are yours to manage. Know the product. You are expected to answer technical questions about stones and metals accurately and confidently. Complete training before you serve a customer. Training is rigorous. It is not a formality. Weekend and holiday availability. Saturdays are our busiest days. You may also be scheduled on Sundays and public holidays. Turn up on time, every time. You are responsible for the store opening on schedule. Sell. This is a performance-based role. We expect you to be confident selling a high-value product to a well-educated, affluent customer base. Commit for at least a year. We invest heavily in training and want people who intend to stay. Excellent personal grooming, every shift. This is non-negotiable in a luxury environment. Requirements: Excellent spoken and written English. You will be administered a diction test. Due to the nature of our product and client base, female candidates are preferred. Calm disposition and the ability to work under pressure. Tech-savvy and comfortable using computers and software. Available Monday to Saturday on a rotating 18-shift roster, including Saturdays. You must live in Ikeja or the surrounding areas — Ogba, Agege, Ojota, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Oregun or similar. This is a firm requirement. A long daily commute makes this role unsustainable and we would rather be upfront about it. Helpful, not essential Comfort dealing with well-educated and affluent customers Previous retail, customer service, hospitality or sales experience: A major Nigerian language (Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa) Personable, good at solving problems, able to multi-task No jewelry experience: required. We train you. We would rather hire someone with the right temperament and teach them the product than hire someone who knows the product but cannot connect with a customer. This Role Suits People early in their career who want serious sales and customer service training People who need flexible work around school, family or another commitment People changing direction who want to build a new skill quickly Working hours: You may be scheduled on Sundays and public holidays depending on staffing requirements. The roster is flexible, but you can be scheduled at any time within our trading hours: 9am–6pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm–6pm on Sundays. 18 shifts per month, approximately 150–160 hours — roughly four days a week. Why Work Here You are not competing with your colleagues. Commission is shared across the store, not paid per individual sale. Nobody fights over customers or over who gets the good shifts. You learn skills that travel. Selling a high-value considered purchase to an affluent customer is a difficult, well-paid skill. Whatever you do after Azarai, it will be worth more than shop-floor experience. You earn more when the store does. Base pay plus uncapped commission on store revenue, every month. You get your week back. 18 shifts a month, roughly four days a week. Most Lagos retail jobs take five or six days. This one leaves you three. We train you properly, and we pay you while we do it. Technical jewelry knowledge, metals, ring sizing, elocution and diction, conflict resolution, customer service, and running a tech-enabled retail operation. Remuneration Your pay has two parts. Both are paid monthly in arrears. Total monthly earnings: N130,000 – N160,000, depending on performance. Base pay: N117,000 per month. This is paid pro-rata for hours worked. At a standard roster of 18 shifts (approximately 156 hours a month), this works out to around N750 per hour. Commission: 1% of total store revenue, shared equally among the Retail Associates at your store. Uncapped — the more the store sells, the more you earn, every month.
