Job Purpose The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process control systems to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of production equipment and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Maintenance: Support the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and production machinery. Troubleshoot electrical faults on motors, control panels, MCCs, relays, contactors, cables, and distribution systems. Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical equipment and systems. Instrumentation Maintenance: Identify faulty instruments and replace or repair components as required. Inspect, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instruments and control devices. Work with temperature, pressure, flow, level, and other process measurement instruments. Maintain and troubleshoot sensors, transmitters, switches, gauges, and control valves. Perform calibration activities and maintain calibration records. Automation and Control: Verify instrument signals and ensure accurate communication between field devices and control systems. Monitor and troubleshoot control panels and process control systems. Assist in diagnosing faults involving PLC signals, control circuits, and automation systems. Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled and automated production equipment. Support maintenance of HMI, PLC, DCS, SCADA, or other automation systems where applicable. General Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, calibration, faults, and repairs. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities. Work closely with production, mechanical, and engineering teams to reduce equipment downtime. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures before breakdown. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety procedures and relevant standards. Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work areas. Support shutdown and major maintenance activities. Qualifications Relevant certification in instrumentation, automation, or PLC systems is an added advantage. OND/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline. Experience: Experience: in an FMCG, manufacturing, oil and gas, chemical, power, or process industry is preferred. Minimum of 2–5 years of experience: in electrical and instrumentation maintenance. Hands-on experience: with industrial instruments and automated production systems.
