Min Qualification: HND Experience Level: Senior level Experience Length: 5 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Lagos, Nigeria Job descriptions & requirements Responsibilities: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of school buildings, classrooms, boarding facilities, and grounds Manage electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generator, and water/borehole systems, coordinating with technicians and contractors as needed Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise disruptions and extend asset lifespan Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations, including regular safety inspections and drills Supervise cleaning, security, gardening, and facilities support staff Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including procurement, quotations, and quality control of works Oversee the school's inventory of equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies Prepare and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities Respond promptly to emergency repairs and facility-related incidents Support the planning and setup of school events, examinations, and special occasions Maintain accurate maintenance logs, asset registers, and compliance documentation Report regularly to the School Director on facility conditions, risks, and improvement plans Requirements: Bachelor's degree or HND in Facilities Management, Building/Civil Engineering, Estate Management, or a related field Minimum of 5 years' experience in facilities or property management, preferably within a school or institutional setting Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems Strong organisational, budgeting, and vendor management skills Sound knowledge of health, safety, and fire compliance standards Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies Strong leadership and staff supervision skills Good communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach Remuneration: NGN 200,000 - 300,000 About Vivian Fowler Memorial College For Girls Vivian Fowler Memorial College For Girls is currently hiring for roles in Accounting, Auditing & Finance within the Education sector.
