We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Plumber Location: Ikeja / Victoria Island - Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair of water supply, drainage, sanitary, sewage and related plumbing systems in residential, commercial, industrial and construction environments. The Plumber is also responsible for identifying plumbing defects, preventing water leakage and wastage, maintaining plumbing equipment and ensuring that completed installations are properly tested and handed over. The role requires the plumber to work from technical drawings, specifications and site instructions, ensuring that all plumbing works are completed safely, accurately, efficiently and in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, building requirements: and project timelines. Responsibilities: Plumbing Installation: Install water supply and distribution systems. Install external and internal plumbing systems. Install water tanks and associated pipework. Install soil and waste pipes. Install cold and hot-water piping systems. Install pipes using appropriate materials and joining methods. Install water closets, wash-hand basins, sinks, showers and other sanitary fittings. Install valves, taps, mixers and control devices. Install sanitary fittings and fixtures. Install underground and above-ground pipework. Install pumps and plumbing connections where required. Connect plumbing systems to approved water supply and drainage networks. Install drainage and waste-water systems. The Plumber shall be able to: Interpret pipe layouts. Identify drainage routes. Follow project specifications. Identify pipe sizes and specifications. Understand plumbing symbols. Follow approved installation details. Identify water supply routes. Work according to instructions from the Plumbing Supervisor/Site Engineer. Read basic plumbing drawings. Interpret levels and gradients. The plumber must not make unauthorized changes to approved plumbing designs: Replacing worn-out components. Install isolation valves and control valves. Ensure pipework is properly secured. Ensure joints are properly sealed. Ensure proper drainage gradients. Install drainage pipes and fittings. Ensure adequate water flow to connected fixtures. Measure and mark pipe routes accurately. Identify pressure-related plumbing problems. Repairing pump connections. Join pipes using appropriate methods. Replacing damaged pipes. Test water pressure. Repairing blocked drains. Repairing faulty taps. Maintain appropriate pipe gradients. Repairing drainage systems. Identify and clear drainage blockages. Repairing or replacing valves. Install expansion provisions where required. Check for leaks. Clearing blocked waste pipes. Ensure proper alignment of pipework.
