We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Gardener Location : Abuja Department: Facilities/Operations Reports To: Operations Manager/Facilities Supervisor Job Summary The Gardener is responsible for maintaining DAL's gardens, lawns, plants, and outdoor areas in a clean, attractive, healthy, and well-maintained condition. The role ensures that the property's landscaping and green spaces consistently meet the company's presentation and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Water plants and lawns as required. Remove dry leaves, weeds, branches, and other garden waste. Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other landscaped areas. Monitor plants for signs of disease, pests, or damage and report issues promptly. Keep walkways, outdoor areas, and landscaped spaces neat and free from debris. Ensure gardening activities do not inconvenience guests or disrupt property operations. Operate and properly maintain gardening tools and equipment. Plant, transplant, and maintain flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants. Report damaged equipment, irrigation problems, or other maintenance issues. Apply appropriate fertilizers, compost, and approved pest-control treatments when required. Assist with landscaping projects and improvement of outdoor spaces. Mow, trim, edge, weed, and prune plants and lawns regularly. Follow appropriate health, safety, and environmental practices. KPIs Gardening Schedule Compliance: 100% Equipment Maintenance Compliance: ≥ 95% Lawn & Plant Health/Appearance: ≥ 95% Landscaped Area Maintenance Compliance: ≥ 95% Guest Landscaping Complaints: ≤ 2% Outdoor Cleanliness Score: ≥ 95% Qualifications & Experience: Basic knowledge of plants, lawn care, and gardening tools. Minimum of SSCE / OND or equivalent. Previous experience: in gardening, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar role is preferred. Required Skills: Plant care and maintenance skills. Physical fitness and stamina. Attention to detail. Good knowledge of gardening and landscaping techniques. Ability to operate basic gardening equipment. Good time management and organization. Basic knowledge of health and safety practices. Reliability and ability to work independently.
