Job Responsibilities: Maintain accurate trip and vehicle records as required. Safely transport pupils to and from school and other approved locations. Keep the assigned vehicle clean and well-maintained. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and school transportation policies. Perform other duties related to school transportation as assigned. Report any mechanical faults, accidents, or maintenance needs promptly. Ensure the safety and orderly conduct of pupils while boarding, travelling, and disembarking. Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after each trip to ensure the bus is roadworthy. Minimum Educational Qualification A valid driver's permit issued by the relevant licensing authority. Completion of a recognised defensive driving or professional driver training programme will be an added advantage. A valid Nigerian driver's licence appropriate for the class of vehicle to be driven. Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or its equivalent. Experience: Previous experience: driving a school bus or commercial passenger vehicle is preferred. Minimum of 3 years' driving experience: with a clean driving record. Required Skills & Competencies: High level of punctuality, reliability, and professionalism. Excellent driving and road safety skills. Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during emergencies. Good knowledge of Nigerian traffic laws and road signs. Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and routine maintenance. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact courteously with pupils, parents, and school staff.
