We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Internal Auditor Location: Owerri / Akokwa, Imo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The role requires someone who can identify risks, detect control weaknesses and irregularities, investigate discrepancies, and provide practical recommendations that improve efficiency, accountability, and overall business performance. We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly ethical Internal Auditor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing business processes, financial and operational activities, internal controls, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Carry out special investigations and assignments as directed by management. Maintain proper audit working papers and documentation. Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve audit findings and improve compliance. Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across the organization. Investigate discrepancies, irregularities, and suspected process violations. Follow up on agreed corrective actions and monitor implementation. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify control gaps and risks. Prepare clear and objective audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations. Ensure audit activities are conducted in line with approved policies, procedures, and professional standards. Support management in strengthening internal controls and improving business processes. Perform stock, cash, asset, and records verification where required. Review transactions, records, processes, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance. Requirements: Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail. Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Ability to interpret financial and operational data and identify anomalies. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive information appropriately. High level of integrity, confidentiality, objectivity, and professionalism. Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management, audit procedures, and accounting principles. Excellent report-writing and communication skills. ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or other relevant professional qualification/certification is an advantage. 5-10years of relevant internal audit experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
