We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Position: Senior Network Engineer Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration, monitoring, optimisation and troubleshooting of our enterprise network. The ideal candidate must have strong experience: managing high-traffic environments and be capable of implementing intelligent bandwidth management that accommodates different departmental requirements: while preventing individual users or devices from monopolising available bandwidth. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring someone who can independently diagnose network problems, identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure and maintain the company's network infrastructure. Manage enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs and network services. Implement effective bandwidth management, QoS, traffic shaping and traffic prioritisation. Develop bandwidth policies based on departments, users, applications and business priorities. Optimise network performance for large-scale video uploads, downloads and local server transfers. Monitor network utilisation, latency, packet loss, throughput and bottlenecks. Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, LAN, WAN and Internet connectivity issues. Work directly with ISPs to diagnose and resolve connectivity and bandwidth-related issues. Implement appropriate network segmentation, access controls and security policies. Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues. Conduct network capacity planning and recommend infrastructure upgrades and improvements. Maintain accurate network documentation, configurations, IP addressing and network topology. Provide technical guidance and support to NOC and junior IT personnel. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of hands-on Network Engineering experience, preferably in a medium-to-large enterprise environment. Must be a graduate. Proven experience: managing networks supporting 250+ users/devices. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, trunking, DHCP, DNS and NAT. Strong practical knowledge of QoS, bandwidth allocation, traffic shaping, traffic policing and traffic prioritisation. Experience: managing high-bandwidth environments and resolving network congestion. Experience: configuring and troubleshooting enterprise routers, managed switches and firewalls. Experience: with network monitoring, traffic analysis and performance troubleshooting. Experience: working with ISPs and WAN infrastructure. Knowledge of network security, ACLs, VPNs and network segmentation. Ability to analyse network traffic and identify the actual source of bottlenecks. Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Who We Are Looking For : We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Network Engineer who can take ownership of a busy enterprise network and operate effectively in a high-traffic, bandwidth-intensive environment. The ideal candidate should: Have strong practical experience: managing enterprise and high-traffic network environments. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes rather than simply resolve symptoms. Be confident working independently and taking end-to-end ownership of network issues and projects. Have a strong understanding of network performance, capacity planning and infrastructure optimisation. Be able to make informed technical decisions using network monitoring, traffic and performance data. Demonstrate a proactive approach to network reliability, security and performance improvement. Communicate effectively with ISPs, vendors and internal stakeholders. Have the ability to mentor and provide technical direction to junior and NOC personnel. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where network availability and performance directly impact business operations. Preferred Technical Experience: & Certifications: Experience: with one or more of the following will be an advantage: Cisco | MikroTik | Fortinet | Ubiquiti | Aruba | Juniper | Sophos | TP-Link Omada Experience: with Wireshark, SNMP and network/bandwidth monitoring platforms is also preferred. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MikroTik, Fortinet or equivalent will be an advantage.
