Batch Mixer Operator - Lotion Plant Job Type Full Time Qualification Secondary School (SSCE) , Vocational Experience: Location Lagos Job Field Manufacturing Job Summary This role involves preparing and mixing raw materials for lotions, creams, shampoos, and similar personal care products according to specified formulations. The Mixer Operator plays a key role in ensuring batch consistency, quality, and safety in compliance with GMP and company standards. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate mixing tanks, agitators, and related processing equipment. Visually inspect raw materials to ensure the right material was accurately weighed before loading to mixing vessels. Load ingredients into mixing vessels in the correct order, sequence, and timing as stated in batch sheet. Monitor and control mixing times, speeds, and temperatures to ensure product consistency. Perform visual inspections and quality checks throughout the batch process. Maintain accurate records of batch data including raw material lot numbers, batch codes, and process parameters in Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR) and Batch Production Log. Clean, sanitize, and maintain mixers, tanks, and surrounding work areas per sanitation and GMP protocols. Work closely with quality control to ensure products meet required specifications. Report equipment issues, process deviations, or material shortages promptly. Follow all company safety procedures, hygiene standards, and SOPs. Qualifications Experience: in batch mixing or production operations within a manufacturing or FMCG environment, preferably in personal care or cosmetics. Basic understanding of mixing processes, raw material handling, and equipment operation in a lotion or soap plant. Ability to follow written formulations, standard operating procedures, and quality control guidelines accurately. Strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and ability to complete production logs and reports. Commitment to workplace safety, hygiene standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, handle moderate lifting, and work in a factory setting. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams. Secondary school certificate or vocational/technical training in production, industrial operations, or related field; prior experience: in a similar role is an added advantage.
