Read more about this company Rector Job Type Full Time Qualification PhD/Fellowship Experience: 15 years Location Sokoto Job Field Administration / Facilities The Position The Rector is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the Polytechnic and is responsible to the Governing Council for the overall management, growth and strategic development of the institution. The Rector shall, among other functions: Provide effective academic and administrative leadership. Ensure the efficient implementation of Government and Governing Council policies. iii. Promote excellence in teaching, research, innovation and community service. Maintain peace, discipline and harmonious relationships among staff and students. Promote prudent financial management, accountability and transparency. Expand internally generated revenue through strategic partnerships and innovation. Qualifications And Experience: The candidate must, among other qualifications: Possess a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree from a recognized institution in a discipline relevant to programmes offered by the Polytechnic. Be a Chief Lecturer in a Polytechnic or a Professor in the University system. Have not less than fifteen (15) years of post-qualification teaching, research and administrative experience: in a tertiary institution. Have substantial academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and be ICT competent. Demonstrate evidence of successful academic leadership and institutional administration. The applicant shall not be more than 60 years age at the time of assumption of office. Tenure Of Office And Condition Of Service The appointment shall be for a term of four (4) years commencing from the effective date of appointment. The remuneration of the office of the Rector, shall be as approved by the Government of Sokoto State in accordance with the prevailing salary structure of polytechnics.
