We have multiple locations in Benin, Warri, Okuokoko etc. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Optometrist - Benin Location: Benin City, Edo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and management of visual and ocular conditions. Responsibilities: Provide patient education: on eye health, hygiene, and preventive care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Perform and interpret relevant optometric tests. Diagnose and manage refractive errors and common ocular conditions. Monitor patients’ progress and provide appropriate follow-up care. Identify ocular abnormalities and refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other appropriate visual aids. Ensure compliance with clinical standards and hospital policies. Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and visual assessments. Education: Possession of a valid practising licence. Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (OD) from a recognised institution. Must be registered with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODOBRN). Experience: Fresh graduates with strong clinical competence may also be considered. 1–2 years of relevant clinical experience: is preferred. Experience: in a hospital or clinical setting will be an added advantage. Skills: Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to use optometric equipment effectively. Good patient-care and counselling abilities. Good record-keeping and documentation skills. Proficiency in relevant computer applications is an added advantage. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills. Other Requirements: Must be medically fit and able to work effectively in a clinical environment. Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and commitment to quality patient care. Must possess good ethical standards and a strong sense of responsibility. Must be willing to work according to the organisation’s duty schedule.
