Placement will reflect your experience: and professional background What We Expect Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical and commercial capability in some or most of the following: Reporting and Control: Financial accounting, and preparation of management and statutory accounts IFRS application and financial reporting Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Internal controls, segregation of duties, and control documentation General Ledger management, and month-end and year-end close Performance and Cost: Financial and operational performance analysis Manufacturing cost accounting and product costing Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis Raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory accounting and reconciliation Cash, Tax and Risk: Compliance monitoring and regulatory requirements: Tax compliance, planning and statutory reporting Enterprise Risk Management and risk registers Treasury, cash flow and working capital management Commercial and Systems: ESG and sustainability data, controls and reporting Corporate finance, financial modelling and investment appraisal Procure-to-Pay and Accounts Payable controls Credit, receivables and collections ERP / SAP and data-driven financial reporting Requirements: IFRS, ICFR and Control Knowledge: Strong candidates will also understand ICFR and COSO-based control principles: Control deficiencies and remediation Control design and operating effectiveness Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs) Management assessment and certification of controls Segregation of duties Financial reporting risks and assertions IT-dependent financial controls Reconciliations and balance-sheet substantiation Control evidence and audit trails Candidates for senior and specialist roles should have a sound working knowledge of the IFRS requirements: relevant to a manufacturing and export business — including inventory, revenue, property, plant and equipment, leases, financial instruments, foreign exchange, taxation, provisions, impairment and cash flows. Familiarity with IFRS 18 and readiness for its implementation will be an advantage, given its effective date for annual periods beginning 1 January 2027. Manufacturing and Business Orientation: You should be able to turn financial information into practical management decisions on production efficiency, product costing and margins, inventory losses and variances, procurement and operating costs, pricing and customer profitability, working capital, capital expenditure, and business risks and controls. Experience: in manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, cocoa, commodity trading, food processing or export will be highly advantageous. We particularly value professionals who understand how finance connects to operations across the full chain: Production→ Cost →Inventory → Sales→ Working Capital →Profitability → Cash Flow Qualifications and Experience: Senior-level appointments will additionally require progressively responsible experience, leadership capability, and demonstrated ownership of a finance, control, risk or reporting function. Minimum of 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience: Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline Ability to work independently within a structured organisation High integrity and sound professional judgement Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills A relevant professional qualification — ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, or an appropriate ESG / sustainability certification, depending on the role Good working knowledge of accounting systems / ERP and Microsoft Excel Why Join PIL?
