We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Project Manager Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to manage project costs, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and financial control. The ideal candidate will ensure construction projects are delivered within budget, while maintaining quality and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct cost analysis and recommend appropriate cost-saving measures. Track supplier and subcontractor payments in line with contract terms. Review contract agreements and ensure favourable commercial terms. Monitor project expenditure and report cost variances to management. Prepare progress valuations, cost reports, and financial documentation. Conduct site inspections to verify work completed against billing claims. Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, and overheads. Manage procurement processes and source cost-effective materials and services. Analyse tender documents and prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ). Support contract negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to resolve cost-related issues. Identify project cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and financial requirements. Develop and monitor project budgets to ensure cost efficiency. Assist with project cash flow forecasting and budget tracking. Assess project variations and prepare change orders where required. Requirements: Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS/construction software; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage. Membership of NIQS or another recognised professional Quantity Surveying body is an advantage. Ability to conduct site inspections and work effectively with contractors and project teams. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Strong experience: in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, contract administration, and cost control. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. 3–5 years’ experience: in quantity surveying, construction, or cost estimation.
