The Micro Credit Loan Officer will process loan applications, perform basic financial analysis, and support underwriting decisions in line with the bank’s credit policies. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate loan documentation, monitoring loan performance, and following up on repayments to ensure portfolio quality. The role also requires delivering responsive customer service, educating clients on loan products and terms, and collaborating with internal teams to support branch growth and outreach activities. Requirements: & Qualifications Educational Background: Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience: in microcredit, loan processing, or related roles (preferably in a Microfinance Bank or financial institution). Candidates should possess experience: as Loan Officers with a focus on microcredit and MSME lending. Candidates should possess foundational Finance skills, including basic financial analysis and understanding of credit risk. Candidates should possess Underwriting skills related to credit assessment, loan structuring, and adherence to lending policies. Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, including communication, client education, and relationship management. Relevant academic background in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with loan management systems and basic office software. Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and ability to work in a target-driven environment within a team setting. Prior experience: in microfinance or retail banking in Nigeria, especially within Abuja or similar markets, is an advantage. Key Responsibilities: Source, evaluate, and onboard potential clients for microcredit loans. Conduct credit appraisals and risk assessments of clients’ businesses and repayment capacity. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all loan applications, approvals, and disbursements. Monitor loan utilization and follow up on repayments to ensure portfolio quality. Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. Collaborate with the credit and recovery teams to manage delinquent accounts. Prepare periodic reports on loan performance, client feedback, and portfolio trends. Promote the bank’s financial products and services to existing and potential clients.
