We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Site Safety Officer Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT) Job Summary The successful candidate will work closely with site engineers, contractors, and workers to prevent accidents, enforce safety procedures, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with the company's safety standards. The ideal candidate must have strong HSE knowledge, practical first-aid and emergency-response capabilities, and the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free construction environment at all times. CasaLavoro Limited is seeking a responsible, proactive, and safety-conscious Site Safety Officer to oversee health, safety, emergency response, and housekeeping standards across the company's construction sites. Key Responsibilities: Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare appropriate reports. Provide basic first aid and immediate assistance during workplace injuries and emergencies. Report safety violations and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Implement and enforce the Company's health and safety policies and procedures on site. Escalate repeated safety or housekeeping violations to management and recommend appropriate corrective action. Ensure construction debris, waste materials, tools, cables, and other obstructions are properly cleared, stored, or disposed of. Ensure walkways, access routes, work areas, emergency exits, and other critical areas remain clear and safe. Take direct responsibility for site housekeeping and cleanliness, ensuring the construction site remains clean, organized, and free from avoidable hazards at all times. Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Ensure all workers, contractors, and visitors comply with site safety requirements: and use appropriate PPE. Ensure workers and contractors clean their work areas after completing tasks. Coordinate emergency response and referral to appropriate medical facilities when necessary. Promote a strong safety culture where cleanliness, personal responsibility, and hazard prevention are treated as daily priorities. Work closely with Site Engineers, contractors, supervisors, and workers to continuously improve safety standards. - Develop, implement, and communicate emergency response procedures. Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions. Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, toolbox talks, safety observations, and corrective actions. Ensure first-aid kits and emergency equipment are available, accessible, complete, and properly maintained. Monitor compliance with construction safety procedures and applicable HSE standards. Conduct regular housekeeping checks and immediately address unsafe or unhygienic conditions. Key expectation: The Site Safety Officer will be directly responsible for ensuring that the construction site is safe, clean, organized, and combine strong HSE knowledge with practical first-aid/emergency-response capability. Requirements: First Aid/CPR certification is required. Bachelor's Degree, HND, or OND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field. 3–5+ years of practical construction-site safety experience. Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce safety standards firmly and consistently. Ability to work with contractors, engineers, artisans, and site workers at different levels. Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, procedures, and risk-management practices. Strong observation, hazard-identification, and emergency-response skills. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining site cleanliness, proper housekeeping, and a hazard-free work environment. Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills. NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or other relevant HSE certification. Nursing, healthcare, occupational health, or related medical training is an added advantage. Ability to work effectively in a construction-site environment.
