We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Upholsterer Location: No. 1 Akaka Road, Ode Remo - Ogun Employment Type: Full-time Department: Production / Interior Assembly Industry: Automobile Manufacturing Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing vehicle interior components, including seats, door panels, headliners, and other upholstered parts, while ensuring comfort, durability, precision, and quality. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Upholsterer with strong practical knowledge of engineering and automobile manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: Interpret basic engineering drawings, measurements, and technical specifications. Work with vehicle frames and interior structures to ensure correct installation of upholstery materials. Apply practical engineering knowledge when fitting and modifying interior components. Inspect completed upholstery work to ensure it meets required quality and production standards. Perform other duties assigned by the Production or Engineering Supervisor. Identify and correct defects such as wrinkles, loose fittings, uneven stitching, and poor finishing. Measure, cut, sew, and fit fabrics, leather, vinyl, foam, and other upholstery materials. Use sewing machines, cutting tools, staplers, adhesives, and other upholstery equipment safely. Work closely with Engineers, Technicians, Fabricators, Panel Beaters, and other Production personnel. Maintain upholstery tools and equipment in good working condition. Install and repair upholstery on vehicle seats, door panels, headliners, dashboards, and other interior components. Ensure proper alignment, fitting, tension, and finishing of upholstered components. Keep the workstation clean, organized, and safe. Comply with company HSE procedures and manufacturing standards. Qualifications & Requirements: Good knowledge of vehicle interior components and upholstery techniques. Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience: as an Upholsterer, preferably in automobile manufacturing, vehicle bodywork, engineering, or a related industry. Strong problem-solving and fitting skills. Good attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings, measurements, and specifications. Ability to use upholstery tools, sewing machines, cutting equipment, and related workshop tools. Physically fit, reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Strong practical knowledge of engineering and automobile manufacturing processes is required. Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, Trade Test, or Technical College qualification.
