We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Core Banking Officer Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Objective(s) To effectively manage and support core banking operations, ensuring the availability, stability, accuracy, and efficient performance of core banking applications and services. The role holder will also contribute to system optimisation, process improvement, and seamless delivery of banking services in line with the organisation’s business objectives. The role will provide technical and operational support for core banking systems, drive timely resolution of incidents and service requests, coordinate system changes and enhancements, and ensure adherence to operational controls, service standards, security requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports, transaction logs, issue registers, and supporting documentation for management and audit purposes. Perform End-of-Day (EOD), End-of-Month (EOM), and End-of-Year (EOY) processing in line with approved procedures. Liaise with IT teams and technology vendors to resolve system incidents, downtime, and other core banking-related issues. Manage transaction exceptions and failed postings within agreed timelines, ensuring proper documentation and closure. Monitor core banking system performance, identify issues, and provide first-level operational support. Execute and monitor daily core banking transactions, including account maintenance, funds transfers, postings, and reconciliations. Collaborate with Branch Operations, Digital Banking, Finance, Risk, IT, and other stakeholders to support seamless core banking operations and implementation of system changes. Ensure compliance with internal policies, operational controls, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and participate in SOP development, system testing, upgrades, and product rollouts. Perform daily reconciliation of transactions, suspense accounts, and general ledger balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field. Others: Experience: working with core banking systems (e.g., Finacle, Flexcube, Temenos) is required. Experience: 5–8 years of experience: in banking operations or core banking support roles.
