We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Packing Plant Operator Location: Okpella, Edo Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Packing Plant Operator at Okpella Cement Limited who will be responsible for operating and monitoring packing plant equipment to ensure efficient packing, loading, and dispatch of cement products. The role involves operating packing machines, monitoring bagging quality, supporting routine equipment checks, maintaining housekeeping standards, reporting abnormalities, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Support minor adjustments, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of packing plant equipment to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Ensure proper handling, usage, and monitoring of cement bags, packing materials, and related consumables to reduce wastage. Observe production targets, dispatch schedules, bagging requirements, and instructions from supervisors to support timely delivery of finished products. Maintain good housekeeping around the packing machines, loading area, working platform, and surrounding equipment to ensure a safe and orderly workplace. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Shift Supervisor, Sectional Head, or Head of Packing Plant. Carry out routine checks on packing machines, bag applicators, spouts, air systems, conveyors, and other related equipment before and during operations. Comply with company safety procedures, quality standards, environmental requirements, PPE usage, IMS standards, and other applicable operational guidelines. Operate packing plant equipment, including packing machines, conveyors, loaders, and related systems, in line with standard operating procedures. Report equipment abnormalities, breakdowns, leakages, blockages, unsafe conditions, or quality issues promptly to the supervisor or maintenance team for corrective action. Monitor the packing process to ensure accurate bag weight, proper sealing, product quality, and smooth flow of cement during packing and loading operations. Requirements: Education: and Work Experience: Senior Secondary School Certificate, Trade Test, National Technical Certificate, OND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial Operations, or a related technical field. Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience: in packing plant operations, production operations, cement dispatch, bagging operations, or industrial plant operations. Experience: in a cement, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment will be an added advantage. Skills And Competencies: High level of discipline, safety consciousness, reliability, physical fitness, and commitment to operational efficiency. Basic knowledge of packing plant operations, bagging machines, conveyors, loading systems, and cement dispatch processes. Ability to monitor equipment performance, identify abnormalities, and support basic troubleshooting during operations.
