They are able to influence without authority and interact effectively across business lines. Responsible for serving as subject matter expert for specific processes and procedures, technical matters, and instrument equipment. They serve as a mentor and provide expertise across the broader organization. They should have a sound understanding of safety, health, and environmental requirements: (SHE) as they pertain to instrument equipment. They are able to provide support and / or guidance for complex Instrument troubleshooting, may participate in constructability and maintenance design reviews and may assist engineering for routine maintenance as well as turnaround, or new project support. They demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; able to network effectively within organizations. Job Role Responsibilities: What will you do? Provides troubleshooting complex issues and operations support Provides technical support and input to training development and delivery Shares Best Practices and provides feedback Develops strong personal expertise, shares knowledge with others Provides technical support and coordination across business lines Implements maintenance design philosophies for Instrument equipment Supports coordination of cost management and productivity improvement plans About you | Skills & Qualifications A BSc in engineering or related sciences without a HND diploma is acceptable IF there is already established and verifiable working experience: as an instrument technician in the oil and gas industry for at least 5 years. Note however that this is strictly a technician role. Must be a Nigerian citizen, must have completed Youth Service with NYSC discharge certificate OR exemption letter Minimum Higher National Diploma in Instrumentation and Controls, City and Guilds level 4 in Instrumentation; or equivalent qualifications in an oil and gas industry specific apprenticeship program. Minimum 5 years relevant instrument technician work experience: Preferred Qualifications | Experience: Good understanding and Interpretation of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control logic Diagrams. Specific technical knowledge on all types of instrumentation, DCS and PLC systems - Pressure, Temperature and Level measurement instruments, Control Loops, Control Valves, Control Logic, etc Technical Knowledge & Equipment Operation: Previous FPSO experience: preferred Good knowledge of Instrumentation / Mechanical and Hands-On Skills: basic understanding and ability to perform minor repairs, routine maintenance, and adjustments on equipment; ability to read and interpret transmitters, sensors, gauges, and control valves; familiarity with ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G) systems, and their role in process safety Ability to adapt, creativity and innovation, good understanding and identification of workplace hazards; analytical and courage of conviction. Ability to influence without authority and interacts effectively with operation and maintenance organizations. Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; able to network effectively within organizations. Versatile with basic Work Management Practices, and CMMS (SAP) to raise notifications, manage workorders, and search for materials Good attention to Detail.
