Job Title: Research Specialist – Implementation & Operations Research Location: Nigeria Job Description We are recruiting for a Research Specialist – Implementation and Operations Research on a permanent, full time basis to join our technical team to be based in either Nigeria. Role Purpose The Research Specialist will strengthen Malaria Consortium’s capacity to bridge the know–do gap by advancing the use of implementation science to understand how programmes are implemented in real-world settings and how they can be improved, adapted, and scaled. The incumbent will support the Malaria Consortium global and country teams and external partners to generate and use high-quality evidence that strengthens Malaria Consortium, the Ministry of Health and partner learning, adaptation, and decision-making Requirements: The post holder is required to have: Postgraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field with strong training in qualitative and mixed methods research. Demonstrated experience: in implementation science, health systems research, or applied public health research. Demonstrated expertise with mixed methods research, including study design, data collection, and analysis. Experience: working in low- and middle-income country settings. Proven ability to translate complex research findings into clear, practical insights for decision-makers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Track record of peer-reviewed journals Experience: contributing to peer-reviewed publications and international conferences Strong skills in operations and/or implementation research, including mixed methods research Solid understanding of public health and health systems principles Good quantitative and qualitative data analysis and data presentation skills Proficient user of statistical software such as STATA or R. Strong skills in using qualitative analytic software such as NVivo, Atlas Ti, etc Proven academic/scientific publication writing skills • Effective presentation and facilitation skills Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences Ability to provide remote and in-person technical support Excellent project management, organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
