This is not a general accounting role. We are specifically looking for someone who understands how finance functions within a regulated or structured financial services environment. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience: working in financial services, combined with solid audit experience: and a strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, reporting and operational processes. We are seeking a Finance & Operations Officer to oversee key finance, accounting, audit, controls and operational activities for our client, a growing company within the financial services sector. Key Responsibilities: Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal policies. Identify financial, operational and control risks and escalate appropriately. Prepare accurate financial reports, management accounts and financial schedules. Support internal and external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings. Monitor operational processes and recommend improvements where necessary. Ensure compliance with applicable financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain effective financial and operational controls. Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. Support other finance and operational initiatives as assigned by management. Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation. Conduct periodic internal reviews and identify control weaknesses. Work closely with management and other departments to improve operational efficiency. Handle bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and transaction reviews. Manage day-to-day financial and operational activities of the business. Prepare reports and analysis for management decision-making. Monitor cash flows, payments, receivables and payables. Requirements: Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Minimum of 4 years relevant professional experience. Must be willing to work fully onsite in Lekki, Monday–Friday. ICAN qualification is mandatory. Must have previous experience: working in the financial services industry — candidates without financial services experience: should not apply. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. Male candidate. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and reconciliations. Must have audit experience, preferably internal audit, external audit or financial controls/audit within financial services. Good understanding of internal controls, risk management and audit processes. Preferred Background: Commercial Banks Finance Houses Investment Companies Other regulated financial institutions.
