Relationship Officer (Deposit Mobilization) in a Leading and Well-Established Microfinance Bank - Open Access Consulting Limited ⏲ Sep 10, 2026, 2:00 PM ⋕ View all Media, Advertising & Communications jobs Open Access Consulting Limited - Our client, a leading and well-established Microfinance Bank, is currently seeking qualified and experienced professionals to join its growing team to fill the position below: Job Title: Relationship Officer - (Deposit Mobilization) Location: Onitsha, Anambra Job Summary / Purpose of the Role The Relationship Officer – Deposit Mobilisation is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers within an assigned market, mobilising daily savings and deposits, acquiring new customers, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer contributions. The role involves regular engagement with traders and other customers within an assigned market route, supporting their savings goals, promoting the Bank’s deposit products, and achieving assigned customer acquisition and deposit mobilisation targets. Key Responsibilities: Report route incidents, security concerns, customer complaints, defaults, and other relevant issues to the Team Lead. Visit and maintain regular contact with registered customers within the assigned market route and collect their daily savings/deposits. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, collections, new accounts, deposits and other assigned activities. Return to the Bank within the prescribed cut-off time and remit 100% of collections to the designated teller/authorised officer, obtaining the appropriate receipt. Record all customer contributions accurately and immediately on the approved application and/or customer's savings card in the customer's presence. Achieve assigned daily collection, weekly customer acquisition, and monthly deposit mobilisation targets. Identify and onboard new customers within the assigned market and surrounding areas, completing all required KYC and customer registration procedures. Identify customers who may require credit facilities and refer qualified prospects to the appropriate Sales Officer. Build and maintain positive relationships with existing customers to encourage customer retention, regular savings and increased deposits. Educate customers on the Bank's savings, deposit and other relevant financial products. Reconcile daily customer records, application records and cash remitted with the Team Lead and immediately resolve any discrepancies. Safeguard all customer funds and ensure that collections are never mixed with personal funds, borrowed, spent or otherwise misused. Handle customer enquiries professionally and escalate complaints or unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor. Commence daily activities early and obtain the assigned collection device/receipt booklet and route plan from the Team Lead. Identify customer needs and opportunities for additional banking services and refer suitable customers to the appropriate Sales/Relationship Officer. Monitor customers' savings activities and notify them of approaching withdrawal, maturity or target dates where applicable. Requirements: Educational Qualification: Minimum of SSCE/WAEC; OND/HND is an advantage. Must be numerate and able to keep accurate records. Experience: Required: 0-2 years; experience: in deposit mobilization, POS agency or market trading is a strong advantage. Must know the Onitsha market environment well and provide credible guarantors.
