This position requires a strategic mining professional with extensive operational leadership experience, strong technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing complex mining operations. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head, Mines Operations to lead and manage large-scale mining activities in a highly productive and safety-conscious environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams of engineers, supervisors, technicians, operators, and contractors. Develop and implement short- and long-term mine plans to achieve production objectives. Coordinate mining activities, including drilling, blasting, excavation, haulage, and material handling operations. Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all mining operations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across mining operations. Monitor mining performance against approved budgets, production targets, and operational KPIs. Prepare and present operational, performance, and production reports to executive management. Optimize equipment utilization and operational efficiency to maximize productivity and cost effectiveness. Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve mine performance. Ensure continuous supply of raw materials to meet plant production requirements: while maintaining required quality standards. Ensure strict compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with technical, maintenance, production, and management teams to achieve business objectives. Requirements: Experience: within the cement, quarrying, mining, or heavy industrial sector is highly desirable. Demonstrated success in mine planning, production management, and operational leadership. Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience: managing large-scale open-pit mining operations. Minimum of 25 years' progressive experience: in mining operations. Relevant professional certifications and memberships will be an added advantage. Key Competencies Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
