We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Managing Director Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-Time | Executive Level Reports To: Board of Directors / Company Owners Industry: Construction, Interior Design & Procurement About the Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a client in the construction industry for an experienced and commercially driven Managing Director to provide strategic leadership, drive business growth, and oversee the company's Construction, Interior Design, and Procurement business units. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on business leader with a proven ability to win clients, secure high-value contracts, manage complex projects, build high-performing teams, and scale a business profitably. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Sales: Build strategic partnerships with developers, banks, hotels, and corporate organizations. Develop and execute business growth strategies to achieve revenue targets. Identify, win, and manage new clients and strategic accounts. Lead tender and bid submissions and negotiate high-value contracts. Operations & Project Delivery Drive HSE compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency. Oversee construction, interior design, and procurement projects from start to finish. Review and approve BOQs, contracts, project schedules, and other critical project documentation. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor key departmental heads, including the Site Engineer, Head of Design, Procurement Manager, and Accountant. Drive accountability, employee development, and team performance. Develop and implement effective systems and SOPs across all three service lines. Build a strong performance-driven organizational culture. Finance & Governance Monitor project profitability and ensure effective cost control. Provide regular performance reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board/Company Owners. Take overall responsibility for P&L, cash flow, budgeting, and financial performance. Ensure CAC, tax, insurance, and other regulatory compliance. Qualifications & Experience: COREN, NIID, PMP, or CIPS will be an advantage. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building, or a related field. Experience: managing teams of 10+ employees. At least 3 years' experience: in a senior management/leadership role. 8–10 years' experience: in construction, interior design, procurement, or a related industry. An MBA will be an added advantage. Professional certifications such as CORBON, Proven track record of successfully delivering projects valued at ₦200 million or more. Key Competencies: Strong commercial and business development acumen. Ability to sell, negotiate, and close high-value contracts. Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, BOQ software, and CRM tools. Strong technical knowledge of construction, design, BOQs, and procurement. Excellent leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills. Proven P&L responsibility and budget management experience. Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capabilities.
