Business Development and Revenue Generation Develop and implement business development strategies that support the company’s growth and revenue objectives. Identify, evaluate, and pursue new projects, contracts, tenders, RFQs, and other business opportunities within the oil and gas, telecommunications, construction, and related sectors. Generate significant income and increase the company’s turnover in line with agreed periodic revenue targets. Conduct comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, emerging opportunities, prospective clients, competitors, market demand, pricing information, and potential risks. Analyse market intelligence and prepare reports and recommendations to support management’s strategic and commercial decision-making. Leverage existing relationships and establish new connections to expand the company’s client base and market presence. Develop winning technical and commercial proposals and follow up with prospective clients to close business deals. Participate throughout the sales cycle, including opportunity development, negotiation, contract closure, and handover of awarded projects to the Operations team. Vendor Registration and Regulatory Liaison Register and maintain the company’s vendor status with international and indigenous oil and gas companies, telecommunications companies, construction companies, and other target organisations. Interface with relevant government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry platforms, including NAPIMS/NUIS, DPR/NUPRC, NIPEX, NCDMB, and other applicable organisations. Ensure that vendor registrations, permits, certificates, prequalifications, and statutory documentation remain valid and up to date. Monitor regulatory and industry requirements: and advise management on developments that may affect the company’s operations or business opportunities. Tendering, Quotations, and Contract Management Manage the complete tendering process, including identifying opportunities, reviewing bid requirements, coordinating bid/no-bid decisions, preparing submissions, and ensuring timely delivery. Receive, review, and respond to Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from clients within the required deadlines. Prepare accurate, competitive, and commercially viable quotations based on client specifications, market prices, supplier or OEM offers, logistics costs, taxes, margins, delivery timelines, and other relevant commercial considerations. Liaise with suppliers, OEMs, technical teams, Operations, Finance, and other relevant stakeholders to obtain pricing, specifications, delivery schedules, and supporting documents required for quotations and bids. Maintain proper records of RFQs received, quotations submitted, client clarifications, revisions, approvals, purchase orders, and outcomes. Follow up on submitted quotations, respond to client enquiries, negotiate commercial terms, and support the conversion of quotations into purchase orders or contracts. Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits, clarification sessions, commercial negotiations, and other bid-related engagements. Coordinate the preparation of technical and commercial bid documents in collaboration with relevant internal departments and external partners. Review tender and RFQ documents to confirm compliance with all technical, commercial, contractual, regulatory, and submission requirements. Serve as a key point of contact for prospective clients and partners during business development, quotation, and tendering activities. Maintain regular engagement with clients to understand their requirements, resolve concerns, and identify opportunities for additional business. Departmental Leadership Manage the Business Development and Tendering Department and ensure the team delivers agreed objectives and performance targets. Liaise with the Administration and Human Resources Manager to recruit, onboard, train, support, and develop members of the department. Define individual roles, responsibilities, targets, and performance expectations for team members. Supervise and evaluate team performance, provide coaching, and address capability or performance gaps. Prepare periodic market research, business development, quotation, tendering, revenue, and performance reports for management. Experience: in the energy, oil and gas, or related EPCI sectors, with solid understanding of industry standards, project lifecycles, and commercial practices. Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform tender strategy and pricing decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for developing proposals, presentations, and formal correspondence. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, finance, and project management. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite), tendering platforms, and document management tools.
