We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Project Lead Location: Maryland, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time About the Role The ideal candidate will have strong experience: in project management, startup funding and finance, business process management, data management, research and analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating strategic objectives into structured and executable project plans, ensuring effective implementation, monitoring project performance, and delivering measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate should have experience: working with or engaging Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), financial institutions, investors, funding partners, and other strategic stakeholders. Experience: in securing or managing startup funding, grant funding, blended finance, or investment-related projects. We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Project Lead to drive the successful planning, implementation, and delivery of key projects across our organisation. Key Responsibilities: Translate business objectives and strategic priorities into clear project plans, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and measurable outcomes. Monitor project budgets, resource utilisation, timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables to ensure projects are delivered within agreed parameters. Develop and maintain project governance frameworks, implementation roadmaps, project trackers, risk registers, and performance dashboards. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery. Support the implementation of digital transformation, operational improvement, and strategic initiatives across the organisation. Lead business process management and business process reengineering initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce process gaps, and strengthen internal controls. Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and timely resolution of implementation challenges. Lead the end-to-end planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of strategic and operational projects. Establish effective data management and reporting systems to track project progress, financial performance, operational metrics, and impact. Drive continuous improvement and ensure that lessons learned are documented and incorporated into future projects. Conduct research and analyse market, industry, financial, and operational data to support strategic decision-making and project development. Ensure all projects align with the organisation's strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, funding conditions, and business priorities. Support the development of funding proposals, project concept notes, business cases, financial models, and investment-related documentation. Support the development and implementation of startup funding and financing initiatives, including engagement with DFIs, investors, financial institutions, development partners, and other funding stakeholders. Review existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and design practical solutions that improve productivity, cost efficiency, customer experience, and scalability. Prepare regular project status reports, management updates, and performance reports for senior leadership and relevant stakeholders. Collect, manage, analyse, and interpret project and business data to identify trends, performance gaps, risks, and opportunities. Manage relationships and coordinate engagements with DFIs and funding partners, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, reporting obligations, and project milestones. Requirements: Experience: in startup funding, project finance, investment, grants, or other financing structures is highly desirable. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, project management tools, and data visualisation/reporting platforms. Demonstrable experience: leading and implementing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from planning through execution and closeout. Excellent data management and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and coordination skills. Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience: in project management, consulting, financial services, business transformation, strategy, or related fields. Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, budgeting, resource planning, and performance management. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Proven experience: working with DFIs, investors, financial institutions, development partners, or funding organisations.
