We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Chief Compliance Officer Location: Abuja Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that Casalavoro Limited operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, internal policies, and ethical business practices. We are seeking a highly experienced, analytical, and detail-oriented Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and oversee the company’s compliance, risk management, internal control, and corporate governance framework. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and relevant departments to identify compliance risks, strengthen internal controls, develop effective policies, and ensure consistent adherence to regulatory requirements: across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, legal advisers, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders on compliance and regulatory matters. Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance risk register and ensure that identified risks are appropriately documented, escalated, and addressed. Develop and implement compliance training and awareness programmes to ensure employees understand their regulatory, ethical, and internal policy obligations. Ensure that regulatory filings, licenses, permits, certifications, reports, and other statutory obligations are completed accurately and within required timelines. Provide regular compliance and risk reports to the Executive Management, highlighting key risks, control weaknesses, regulatory developments, incidents, and recommended actions. Establish appropriate mechanisms for reporting, escalating, documenting, and resolving compliance incidents and control deficiencies. Review business processes and recommend improvements that strengthen governance, transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency. Monitor regulatory developments and ensure that the company remains up to date with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, reporting, and compliance requirements. Promote a strong culture of compliance, integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct across Casalavoro Limited. Identify, assess, monitor, and manage compliance, operational, financial, and regulatory risks across the organization. Conduct regular compliance reviews, internal assessments, and audits to identify control gaps, policy breaches, and areas requiring corrective action. Investigate reported compliance breaches, policy violations, conflicts of interest, fraud concerns, and other ethical or regulatory issues, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Advise the Executive Management on the compliance implications of new business initiatives, contracts, partnerships, investments, operational changes, and strategic decisions. Work closely with Finance, HR, Operations, Legal, and other departments to ensure compliance requirements: are incorporated into business processes and day-to-day operations. Monitor third-party and vendor compliance where applicable, ensuring that key partners and service providers meet the company’s required standards. Ensure that corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, investigations, risk assessments, and compliance reviews are properly implemented and followed through to completion. Establish and monitor effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets, reduce operational risks, and promote accountability across departments. Develop, review, and maintain company policies, procedures, compliance manuals, codes of conduct, and internal guidelines. Develop, implement, and oversee Casalavoro Limited’s overall compliance management framework, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Maintain appropriate documentation and records relating to compliance activities, investigations, audits, policies, risk assessments, and regulatory correspondence. Requirements: Experience: using compliance, audit, risk management, or enterprise governance software is an added advantage. Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation and record-keeping skills. Must demonstrate a strong understanding of confidentiality and be capable of handling highly sensitive business and regulatory information. Ability to challenge business decisions constructively and provide objective compliance advice to senior management. Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, discretion, independence, and professional judgment. Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, corporate governance principles, internal controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance best practices. Ability to operate independently while effectively collaborating with senior management and multiple departments. Proven experience: developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, internal controls, and risk management frameworks. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills. A relevant professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, CISA, CRMA, CAMS, or other recognized compliance, risk, audit, or governance certification is an added advantage. Strong ability to identify compliance gaps, assess risks, and develop practical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present high-level reports to Executive Management. Strong understanding of regulatory reporting, licensing, statutory obligations, audits, and regulatory inspections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Minimum of 4 - 7 years relevant experience: in compliance, risk management, internal audit, corporate governance, regulatory affairs, or a related function, with significant experience: in a management or leadership position.
