GHI designs and implements community-based initiatives that address climate change, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and green innovation. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Position: Human Resource Officer Job Location: Remote, with occasional presence at the office in Abuja, FCT. Employment Type: Contract Job Type: Part-time (1–2 days per week, renewable based on performance) Description GHI is seeking to engage a Human Resources Officer to support the implementation of HR policies and processes, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, staff development, and compliance. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong organizational skills, and initiative in supporting a productive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace. Key Responsibilities: Support the implementation of HR strategies, policies, and processes aligned with GHI’s goals and values. Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement activities. Support employee relations and provide HR guidance to staff and management as required. Assist in implementing performance management processes and staff feedback mechanisms. Coordinate training and staff development initiatives to enhance employee capacity and growth. Ensure compliance with labor regulations and maintain accurate, up-to-date HR records and documentation. Promote a positive, inclusive, and accountable organizational culture Qualifications and required experiences A Master's (required) and Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields. A minimum of 3 years of experience: in a Human Resources role. Proven expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. Strong knowledge of HR best practices and Nigerian labor regulations. Proficiency in HR software and project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Odoo, Slack, or similar). Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills. Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Commitment to the mission and values of GHI. Expected Results: An effective, motivated, and well-supported workforce with clear HR systems, transparent performance management processes, and a strong organizational culture that aligns with GHI’s mission and values. Required personal competencies: Strategic and analytical thinking with proactive execution. Sustainability Knowledge: Knowledge of the sustainability agenda and its relationship with business. Must possess a strong interest in driving corporate action on sustainable development. Must have an international and innovative outlook and mindset. Computer/Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Google and MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience: using project management software (e.g., Clickup, Slack, etc) is desirable.
