Project Coordinator (Upstream & Midstream Gas Development) in a Leading Exploration & Production Company ⏲ Aug 12, 2026, 7:11 AM ⋕ View all Oil & Gas jobs We are a leading Exploration & Production Company with active operatorship of prolific oil blocks and oil and gas assests in Nigeria's Niger Deltas area. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Project Coordinator (Upstream & Midstream Gas Development) Location: Lagos (with travel as required) Employment Type: Full-time Role Purpose The role requires sufficient technical grounding across the upstream value chain to engage credibly with subsurface, drilling and completions teams, sanity-check technical inputs and timelines, and identify and escalate risk early — acting, in effect, as a technically fluent right hand to the Project Director rather than a purely administrative coordinator. The Project Coordinator provides senior, day-to-day coordination of a portfolio of upstream and midstream gas project developments, translating the Project Director's direction and senior leadership decisions into disciplined execution across all workstreams. Key Responsibilities: Translate Project Director direction and senior leadership decisions into clear workstream actions and track delivery against them. Support the Project Director in stakeholder engagement, and act as a credible deputy in the Project Director's absence where required. Own and maintain the master programme schedule, dependency map, and risk and issue log across all workstreams. Prepare programme reporting materials, including status updates, steering committee packs, and senior leadership briefings. Coordinate cross-functional working sessions across subsurface, drilling, facilities, commercial, regulatory, corporate, and HSSE, and drive timely resolution of interface issues between workstreams. Provide independent, technically informed sanity-checking of subsurface, drilling and completions inputs and timelines; flag technical risk or schedule optimism early, rather than simply reporting status. Manage programme documentation and governance cadence — meetings, minutes, actions and decision logs — and oversee information and document management for the programme. Required Experience: & Qualifications Strong organizational and reporting discipline, with experience: using programme management tools and operating within formal governance structures. Prior experience: in a senior project management, project controls, or programme coordination role on a major upstream oil and gas development, including LNG projects. Demonstrated ability to operate as a technically credible second-in-command — able to challenge technical teams and independently identify risk, not simply track and report status. At least 15 years in the upstream oil & gas industry, with hands-on experience: across multiple stages of the value chain — subsurface data acquisition and interpretation, drilling and completions, production or facilities exposure is a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Geosciences, or a related technical discipline. Advantageous: Prior LNG project exposure. Experience: operating within the Nigerian upstream regulatory and operating environment. Formal project management credentials (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) in addition to technical background. Key Competencies: Highly organized and detail-oriented; comfortable owning the operational engine room of a complex, multi-workstream programme. A self-starter, comfortable with pace and ambiguity in an early-stage programme. Sound discretion and judgment; able to operate close to sensitive commercial and governance matters. Technical fluency and confidence to engage subsurface, drilling and completions specialists as a credible peer, not merely a scheduler of their time. Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce senior leadership-ready materials. How to Apply Interested and qualified candidates should send their Curriculum Vitae, quoting relevant references and scanned passport-size photograph to: [email protected] using Job Title as the subject of the mail. Note Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. All applications will be treated in strict confidence. Application Deadline: 25th August, 2026.
