We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Geography Teacher Location: Benin, Edo Employment Type: Full-time Responsibilities: Teach topics such as physical geography, human geography, environmental studies, map reading, climate, population, and resources. Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in accordance with the school curriculum. Stay updated on modern teaching methods and developments in Geography education. Manage the classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment. Participate in departmental meetings, school activities, excursions, and other assigned duties. Maintain accurate records of students’ academic performance and attendance. Use maps, charts, technology, fieldwork, and practical activities to enhance learning. Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, tests, and examinations. Prepare students for internal and external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and IGCSE where applicable. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding students’ progress. Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback. Requirements: Experience: preparing students for WAEC, NECO, IGCSE, or similar examinations is an advantage. Fresh graduates with strong teaching ability may also be considered. Strong assessment and problem-solving skills. Good organizational and time-management skills. Must be willing to participate in extracurricular activities. Good classroom management skills. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the school’s location. Creativity and ability to make lessons engaging. B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.), B.Sc. Geography, or a related qualification from a recognized institution. Ability to simplify complex geographical concepts. Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, punctuality, and commitment to students' academic development. Ability to use ICT and digital teaching tools. Strong knowledge of Geography and the school curriculum. Minimum of 2–3 years teaching experience: in a reputable primary / secondary school. Relevant teaching certification is an added advantage. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
