The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, conducting eye examinations, diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions, and educating patients on proper eye health and preventive care. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and manage common refractive and ocular conditions within the scope of practice. Maintain high standards of clinical ethics, professionalism, and patient safety. Identify signs of ocular diseases and refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when necessary. Prescribe and dispense appropriate corrective lenses and other optical solutions. Stay updated on current developments, technologies, and best practices in optometry. Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records. Perform visual acuity tests, refraction, tonometry, and other relevant optometric examinations. Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments for patients. Provide pre- and post-treatment eye care and appropriate patient follow-up. Participate in community eye-screening programs, corporate outreaches, and health awareness campaigns. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, contact lens use, and proper vision care. Requirements: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be fully registered with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODOBRN). Valid practicing license. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Bachelor's Degree in Optometry (OD) from a recognized institution with 1 – 3 years post-qualification experience. Proficiency in electronic medical records and basic computer applications is an advantage. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
