We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Head of Finance Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Reports to: CEO / Managing Director Function: Finance & Strategy Job Summary We are looking for a commercially astute Head of Finance to lead the organisation’s financial strategy while providing the leadership team with the insights required to make better business decisions. This is more than a reporting and accounting role. The successful candidate will own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, cash-flow optimisation and commercial finance, partnering with the CEO and business leaders to drive sustainable growth and profitability. Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Planning: Translate business strategy into financial plans, targets and investment priorities. Evaluate business cases, investments and major expenditure decisions. Provide financial insights to support strategic and commercial decisions. Develop and execute the organisation’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives. Develop financial models for new businesses, projects and growth opportunities. Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop departmental and company-wide budgets. Maintain rolling forecasts and scenario plans. Identify financial risks, variances, and emerging opportunities early. Establish financial targets and monitor performance against approved budgets. Lead the annual budgeting and planning process. Financial Performance Management: Develop management reports and financial dashboards for the CEO and leadership team. Establish financial KPIs and performance measures across the business. Analyse revenue, costs, margins, profitability and cash performance. Drive accountability for budget ownership across departments. Provide actionable recommendations based on financial trends. Commercial Finance: Support negotiations and major commercial decisions with financial analysis. Analyse pricing, margins, customer profitability and commercial performance. Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue improvement. Partner with Commercial, Operations and Business Development teams to improve profitability. Cash Flow & Working Capital: Lead cash-flow planning and liquidity management. Monitor receivables, payables and cash commitments. Optimise working capital and cash conversion. Ensure the business maintains appropriate liquidity to support operations and growth. Financial Controls & Governance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Maintain appropriate approval and expenditure controls. Strengthen financial controls, policies and processes. Work with auditors, tax advisers and regulatory stakeholders. Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax and statutory requirements. Leadership & Business Partnership: Present financial performance, forecasts and strategic recommendations to management and the Board where required. Build financial capability and accountability across non-finance teams. Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team as a trusted financial adviser. Lead and develop the finance team. What we're Looking For High commercial awareness with the ability to translate numbers into business decisions. Strong understanding of cash-flow and working-capital management. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills. 6–8years of progressive finance experience, with significant leadership responsibility. Experience: partnering with CEOs and senior executives. Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Demonstrated experience: in financial modelling and business-case evaluation.
