Static Engineer at Siperco Nigeria Limited ⏲ Jul 31, 2026, 1:15 PM ⋕ View all Manufacturing & Production jobs Siperco Nigeria Limited is currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below: Job Title: Static Engineer Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Overall Purpose of the Role The Static Engineer is responsible for the inspection, reliability, integrity, maintenance, and performance of all static equipment within the facility. The role ensures that pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, boilers, piping systems, columns, reactors, and other static assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct integrity assessments, fitness-for-service (FFS), and remaining life evaluations. Coordinate inspection activities in accordance with RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) programs. Support plant reliability improvement initiatives and cost optimization programs. Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, NACE, and other applicable international standards. Investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA). Monitor equipment condition and recommend corrective actions to prevent failures. Participate in equipment inspections, shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance planning. Ensure all engineering activities comply with HSE policies and statutory regulations. Review vendor documentation and provide technical support during procurement. Review inspection reports and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Support equipment commissioning, start-up, and performance testing. Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, isometrics, and technical specifications. Participate in Management of Change (MOC), HAZOP, and risk assessment activities. Prepare engineering reports, maintenance plans, and equipment performance analyses. Evaluate repair methods for damaged equipment and ensure quality execution. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Process, Mechanical, and Inspection teams. Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all static equipment. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for static assets. Static Equipment Covered: Furnaces. Pig Launchers and Receivers. Pipelines. Boilers. Pressure Vessels. Drums. Columns and Towers. Air Coolers. Pressure Relief Devices. Heat Exchangers. Reactors. Storage Tanks. Separators. Piping Systems. Silos and Hoppers. Filters and Strainers. Qualifications Professional registration (COREN or equivalent) is an added advantage. Membership of NSE, ASME, API, or other relevant professional bodies is desirable. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience: 5 – 10 years of relevant experience: in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, Fertilizer, or Gas Processing industry. Hands-on experience: supporting plant shutdowns and turnarounds. Experience: in brownfield or greenfield projects is an added advantage.
