We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Senior Site Engineer Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Senior Site Engineer will provide technical leadership and senior-level supervision of construction projects, ensuring that construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, within approved budgets and timelines, and in accordance with approved designs and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Review subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements. Develop and monitor site execution plans and construction schedules. Identify technical challenges and provide appropriate engineering solutions. Supervise inspections, testing, measurements, and quality-control activities. Perform other duties assigned by Management. Monitor project progress against agreed milestones and immediately escalate potential delays. Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. Monitor materials, equipment, and labour requirements: and ensure effective utilization. Monitor construction costs and work closely with the Quantity Surveying and Project Management teams to control project expenditure. Lead and participate in technical and project coordination meetings. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Lead and supervise major construction activities from commencement through completion. Support commissioning, snagging, handover, and close-out activities. Review and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings. Review construction methodologies and recommend efficient execution approaches. Mentor and develop junior Site Engineers and technical staff. Provide technical direction and guidance to Site Engineers, supervisors, contractors, and artisans. Ensure proper documentation of site activities, progress, variations, issues, and decisions. Coordinate with architects, consultants, quantity surveyors, contractors, procurement, and other stakeholders. Requirements: Strong knowledge of quality control, health and safety, and construction standards. Strong knowledge of construction methods, structural works, building services, and site operations. Experience: managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams. Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software. Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills. Excellent ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Minimum 10 years of relevant construction/site engineering experience. Professional registration/membership with COREN or relevant professional body is an advantage. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or related field. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Proven experience: managing complex residential, commercial, high-rise, hospitality, or large-scale real estate projects.
