Our idea of collaboration and partnership involves the synergy of tested experts in the market place to research, identify and proffer solutions to the ever dynamic needs of our Clients We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Business Manager Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Business Manager will serve as the commercial and operational lead of the company, responsible for driving revenue, profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth. The role will translate the Founder’s strategic and creative vision into a structured, scalable, and commercially successful fashion business. Core mandate Ensure the company’s products, customer experience, and operations remain commercially viable and aligned with the brand vision. Own and drive the company’s P&L, revenue, and profitability. Drive commercial performance across retail, pop-ups, activations, and emerging sales channels. Develop and execute business strategies for sustainable growth. Build effective operational systems, processes, and accountability structures. Key Responsibilities: Business Strategy & Planning: Prepare annual business plans with clear quarterly execution priorities. Identify growth opportunities across retail, pop-ups, new markets, and product categories. Monitor market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity and provide strategic recommendations to the Founder. Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies. P&L & Financial Management: Set and monitor revenue, expense, margin, and profitability targets. Drive financial discipline and ensure resources are deployed efficiently. Take ownership of the company’s overall P&L and financial performance. Work with Finance on budgeting, financial reporting, cost control, and performance tracking. Revenue & Commercial Performance: Develop and oversee sales strategies, pricing, product mix, and revenue initiatives. Monitor sales performance, sell-through, margins, and inventory efficiency. Drive revenue across stores, pop-ups, activations, and other commercial channels. Identify and implement initiatives that improve revenue and profitability. Retail & Customer Experience: Oversee customer experience, clienteling, in-store execution, and conversion performance. Ensure the retail experience: reflects the brand positioning and drives customer retention and sales. Develop strategies to position the company’s store as a strong brand and commercial destination. Product & Commercialization: Support assortment planning, pricing architecture, product positioning, and inventory decisions. Maintain the right balance between creative direction, customer demand, and commercial viability. Work closely with Design and Production to align product development with market demand and commercial objectives. Operations, Systems & Process Improvement: Establish and enforce effective systems for inventory, sales tracking, reporting, workflows, and operational control. Establish clear processes, ownership, accountability, and performance standards across the business. Identify operational gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Team Leadership & Performance: Provide leadership and direction to key functional areas including Commercial, Retail, and Operations. Define clear roles, responsibilities, reporting lines, and performance expectations. Coach and hold functional leads accountable for agreed business outcomes. Build a culture focused on accountability, performance, collaboration, and execution excellence. Execution & Business Performance: Oversee the execution of key commercial initiatives, including pop-ups, store activations, sales campaigns, and growth projects. Reporting & Management Insights: Provide the Founder with clear business insights, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions. Monitor key indicators including revenue, conversion, sell-through, inventory movement, margins, and operating costs. Establish and maintain weekly and monthly business performance reporting. Key Success Measures – First 3–6 Months Improvement in revenue, conversion, margins, and inventory efficiency. Full and reliable visibility of business performance through weekly and monthly reporting. Store functioning as a structured and commercially driven retail operation. Pop-ups and activations delivering measurable commercial returns. Clear performance ownership across key functional teams. Improved cost control and overall profitability. Stronger operational structure, processes, and accountability. Candidate Profile Strategic thinker with strong execution and operational management capabilities. Strong understanding of the fashion/RTW market, customer behaviour, product, fabrics, and retail dynamics. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling, founder-led business. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance creativity, brand positioning, and profitability. Data-driven, analytical, and highly results-oriented. Proven experience: managing P&L, revenue, profitability, and multi-channel sales. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. 6–10+ years’ experience: in fashion, retail, lifestyle, consumer goods, or a related commercial environment.
