Read more about this company Mechanical Fitter Job Type Full Time Qualification OND , Secondary School (SSCE) Experience: 5 - 7 years Location Lagos Job Field Engineering / Technical Salary Range ₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦250,000 Job Summary Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to maintain and repair production equipment, minimize downtime, and ensure efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on maintenance experience, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and production machinery. Diagnose and resolve routine mechanical faults to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain critical spare parts and assemblies for quick equipment restoration. Coordinate with the section supervisor and provide timely updates on maintenance activities and equipment issues. Participate in daily maintenance meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct root cause (\"Why-Why\") analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Ensure maximum equipment availability through effective maintenance practices. Promote and comply with Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental (QHSE), and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements. Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System. Participate in internal audits, inspections, and employee awareness programs related to IMS. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Contribute to initiatives that improve plant safety, environmental performance, and operational efficiency. Requirements: SSCE with Trade Test, OND, HND, or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering. 5–7 years of mechanical maintenance experience: in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience: with rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and other production machinery. Ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals. Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. Willingness to work in shifts where required.
