Monitor blockwork, plastering, screeding, tiling, painting, ceilings, doors, windows, metalwork, and other architectural finishes. Ensure clean lines, accurate levels, proper alignment, consistent joints and high-quality workmanship. Identify defects, poor workmanship, inconsistencies, and deviations from approved drawings or specifications. Ensure that finishes are executed to the required aesthetic and technical standards. Inspect details at junctions, corners, edges, openings and transitions between different materials. Review workmanship before areas are approved for subsequent stages of construction. Ensure that contractors and artisans correct identified defects before work progresses. Carry out detailed snagging inspections and monitor the closure of all snags. Drawings, Specifications & Execution: Review architectural drawings and specifications to ensure proper execution on site. Interpret architectural details and communicate requirements: clearly to site teams and contractors. Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site execution. Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, engineers, contractors and artisans to resolve architectural and finishing issues. Provide practical solutions where site conditions require adjustments while maintaining design intent and quality. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain architectural finishing quality standards across projects. Develop inspection checklists and quality-control procedures for various stages of construction. Conduct pre-inspection and final inspection of completed spaces. Document defects and prepare snagging/quality-control reports. Follow up to ensure all identified issues are properly rectified.
