The Welder performs welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities on structural components, piping, equipment, and other metalwork required for safe rig operations. Key Responsibilities: Inspect materials and welding surfaces before commencing work. Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and welding specifications. Maintain welding equipment and tools. Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other workshop tools. Perform welding and fabrication work using approved welding techniques. Perform grinding, cutting, fitting, and finishing activities. Ensure proper storage and handling of welding consumables. Conduct visual inspections of completed welds. Repair and fabricate metal structures, pipes, platforms, supports, and equipment. Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and work areas. Follow approved hot-work procedures and Permit to Work requirements. Comply with all HSE requirements: and use appropriate PPE. Qualifications Minimum of Trade Test/Technical Certificate/OND in Welding, Fabrication, or related field. 3–5 years welding/fabrication experience, preferably in oil & gas, marine, or offshore operations. Experience: with SMAW, GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, or other applicable welding processes. Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable. Knowledge of hot-work procedures and welding safety. Valid welding certification relevant to the required welding processes is preferred.
